S.O.A.P - Philemon

Title - Ministry of Reconciliation

Scripture

10 I appeal to you for my child, Onesimus, whose father I became in my imprisonment.

17 So if you consider me your partner, receive him as you would receive me.

18 If he has wronged you at all, or owes you anything, charge that to my account.

Observation

Just like God restoring us through Christ to call him Father, Paul became father to Onesimus. (1Cor 4:15 - For even if you had ten thousand others to teach you about Christ, you have only one spiritual father.)

Paul was able to see the Lord's intention in this situation. He knows that he is entrusted with a ministry of reconciliation - to restore broken relationship. He calls for Philemon to love Onesimus as brother because of their new relationship in Christ.

Application

Instead of bashing our brothers, breaking relationship, battling each other over misunderstanding - ask God for discernment what He wants in a situation.

Prayer

Father God, make my heart big, so big that it can cover the mistakes and failures of others. Let my life be a ministry of reconciliation, empower me with Your Spirit to reopen communication, reverse misunderstanding and restore broken relationship.

Youth and Young Adults:

PRAY FOR

- to have the FAITH and BOLDNESS in hearing God's voice to invite our friends

- to be prepared, open and welcoming in building bonds with the guests

- our relationship with God to be strengthened through rediscovery of the 'basics' through this course

- filled with excitement and Enthusiasm at this wonderful chance for Evangelism!

- As a YaYA ministry, pray that we will be united and One in spirit in serving each other and our guests.

Guests:

PRAY FOR

-  Each heart will be prepared for God's message and salvation

-  Every invited guest to be able to make it for the sessions

-  Those who have been invited but are hesitant for various reasons, pray that these obstacles be removed so they can come

and have this wonderful opportunity to know God

Leaders and helpers:

PRAY FOR

- CG leaders to be filled with the holy spirit and wisdom as they lead discussions and facilitate group bonding

- Speakers to have the wisdom, strength and Anointing from the Lord as they prepare their talks 

- Musicians/Game leaders etc to be filled with Joy and  wisdom as they serve

- Great teamwork to flow among all as we honour and serve each other

Let's pray and ask the Lord for 50 NEW young people to come and attend this course!

Boldly Pray and Proclaim for God to show up and His Presence to be SO REAL every single session, that every single heart will be touched.

Just like in Mark Chapter 4 the parable of the farmer sowing seeds, let's pray that the Lord will prepare the ground for a mighty harvest.

"... like the seed sown on good soil, hear the word, accept it , and produce a crop - some thirty, sixty and a hundred times what was sown"!

S.O.A.P

Beloved YaYAs,

On the last day of the church camp, Ps Keith challenged us to go into the WORD to have an ongoing Awakening experience.

I would like all of us to take up this challenge. I am certain our YaYA leaders would set the example by doing this, and then everyone can be on the same Awakening journey.

"i found it!" - is about sharing the most important thing you have found.

Go and find two friends and bring them for the Youth Alpha course in July and August, to be held during our Sunday YaYA time.

They will be treated to a free meal,follow by ice-breakers and worship. In an informal and relaxed environment, your friends will explore what we hunger after - meaning and intimacy and relationship.

All YaYAs are involved. 

Start by praying and asking God for 2 persons.
